This is the only east-facing coast that faces west, meaning sunsets over the Wash are a daily event here rather than a lucky coincidence. The village of Holme-next-the-Sea is just up the coast — one of Norfolk’s most beloved small communities, with direct access to Holme Dunes National Nature Reserve. Walk east along the beach from Holme and you reach the foreshore where Seahenge, a 4,000-year-old Bronze Age timber circle, was discovered in 1998.
